I enjoyed presenting at McQuaid Jesuit in New York yesterday. I talked about staying connected with teen sons, and I shared the importance of knowing, honoring and accepting your child for who he is rather than who you want him to be. Afterward, my favorite question came from a mother who said, “that makes sense to me, but how can you do that if your son is a complete and total mystery to you?”
A reporter for the Rochester evening news covered the event, and this clip captures one of my thoughts about how to communicate with boys so they don’t shut down.
